Our Story

be™ is a family-owned and operated business, founded in 2023 by Liz Garcia, a passionate Speech Pathologist and DIR®/Floortime® practitioner, alongside her husband, Jason. As business partners and devoted parents who homeschool their three children, Liz and Jason embody their philosophy of child-led, meaningful, relational learning in both life and work.

be™ grew out of their well-established allied health practice, Beyond Words Therapy Centre (founded in 2015), which proudly served families across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland through clinics in Maleny and Beerwah. Over the years, Liz and Jason have continually refined their approach, deepening their commitment to creating environments where children truly thrive—spaces that are nurturing, inclusive, and aligned with each child’s individual strengths and needs.

At be™, children are welcomed into a space where they feel safe, seen, and supported. It is a place for imagination, curiosity, and connection—a space where children can play, explore, and express themselves without fear, following their interests and growing at their own pace. These experiences nurture confidence, creativity, resilience, and a strong sense of identity, helping children develop not only skills, but also joy, agency, and belonging.

Our motto, “be seen, be heard, be you,” reflects our commitment to celebrating each child’s unique voice and supporting families to feel recognised, valued, and empowered—exactly as they are. At be™, we don’t just work with children; we partner with families to create meaningful, joyful learning journeys that honour every child’s individuality and potential.
